Dr. Schiro was born and raised in Okemos, Michigan. As the daughter of an oral surgeon, she gained an early appreciation on the positive impact dentistry can have on patients as well as throughout the community. In pursuit of joining the dental profession, Dr. Schiro embarked on a 10-year long educational journey to become an orthodontist.
First step- college. Dr. Schiro went to the University of Loyola in Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated as one of the most decorated student athletes; specifically, named to the Division I Academic All-American Team, an award that only eleven players across the nation received. Balancing academics with athletics reinforced the importance of time-management and dedication, both of which Dr. Schiro continually applies throughout her personal and professional life.
Second step- dental school. Dr. Schiro spent four years at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Given the unique opportunity to treat patients with Invisalign, her predilection toward the study of orthodontics flourished. Graduating at the top of her class and being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Dr. Schiro continued her pursuit in becoming an orthodontist.
Third step- orthodontic residency. Following her D.D.S. degree, Dr. Schiro went to the University of Louisville and received her Certificate in Orthodontics as well as Masters of Science in Dentistry (MS). After two years of cultivating her specialized skill set, Dr. Schiro demonstrated her dedication to the specialty and commitment to providing excellence in orthodontics by becoming a Board Certified Orthodontist.
Dr. Schiro is thrilled to plant her roots in Colorado as she continues to pursue her passion in creating a lasting positive impact on her patients and community as a whole. When Dr. Schiro is not in the office, she loves spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, trying new restaurants, and doing any and every outdoor activity- skiing, hiking, biking, running…!
